wellington. i'm just saying...

was lucky enough to experience a little bit of new zealand recently. first stop was windy wellington and although the city was not as aesthetically pleasing as queenstown, have to say the eclectic shops and feel of cuba street in general made up for it's lack of beauty. three days of wandering the abundance of boutiques and vintage shops, a few beautiful finds (rose teacup and saucer, and fab vintage belt!) and some photos of shop fronts later, wellington has been scored a must see for avid second hand shoppers.

world and kilt. more high end. very cool.

swonderful. as you can see from the windows, it is si divin. cute name, cute shop, cute clothes. again, pricier but worth it, even just to say you got it from 'swonderful'!

hunters and collectors. very, very funky and extensive vintage shop. the most amazing accessories and props. i'm not going to even start on the clothes because you can imagine.

ziggurat. definitely a favourite. two bursting rooms of, not too badly priced, amazing vintage finds. spent ages here. almost bought very, very high-waisted american jeans. had, by this point, exhausted funds. quelle honte.

madame fancy pants. la plus adorable gift shop ever. definitely go online for presents if you can't, for some unthinkable reason, make it to wellington to see the shop in person. is founded and run by the loveliest woman who pointed out an amazing high tea boutique up the street.

the eleventh hour...

a few weeks back we threw together some pieces of our own and hauled them to the home of a photographer from HBB Photography. any experience is good experience, and so the opportunity to get our name out there could not be missed. in a very casual surrounding we had the joy to work with Georgia Snow who was the model and make up artist for the shoot! three hours later we gathered up our bags of accessories and rail of clothing and left, weary although happy and, ok, a little excited. although many, many pictuers were taken, only a few were blog worthy. hope you enjoy.

in the beginning...

the decision to start our own business happened one evening over coffee after our first catch up in many months. the concept of styling was not particularly a new one to us. we had always wanted to do "something" together in the fashion industry, that we both loved and that we felt "gave us a sense of control in a world full of chaos"... clueless had it right. styling had always given us a sense of purpose, and so it has become our's.

oh mon dieu. oh my god. we have always been completely inspired by all things french, as are probably two thirds of the female population worldwide (except ,of course, those lucky enough to be french...how terribly unfair..) and we adore the language. we are also young women in today's society, and as most women do, we generally vocalise our amazement at something that is tout à fait divin or absolument indigne with the phrase "oh my god", and so oh mon dieu. was born...
